A Work in Progress

Work on Katelyn's room has been in full swing since June. First, we had to sort through the massive amount of junk located in our office. Over the years, our office had become a veritable dumping ground for all things unused or unwanted. It was also starting to collect mounds of baby gifts that we had been receiving. Some of our office belongings were relocated to nifty plastic tubs and stored in the garage on new shelves that my brother and Matt built, while other belongings were donated to various charitable organizations. The furniture was either dismantled, relocated, or donated. Painting took place last weekend courtesy of my mom and Matt. Now, there is plenty of room for all of Katelyn's goodies! Her nursery furniture arrived at the store the other day, and will be picked up tomorrow. Stay tuned for photos of the final results! Below, you will find some photos of the office during its metamorphosis.

Our Growing Family

A few weeks ago, we had my sister, Cheryl, take some photos of our growing family at Crown Valley Community Park in Laguna Niguel. The setting for our photos is within the park's 18 acre beautiful botanical preserve. You can view a sampling of the photos in the slide show running above. At the time the photos were taken, I was approximately 30 weeks pregnant.

And the Baby's Name is...

Choosing your child's name is a tough decision. You want to select one that you like, one that flows smoothly, and one that won't lead your child to be teased down the road. Oddly enough, we had a boy's name selected in about 5 minutes flat, but it took us longer to decide a name for a little girl. Although we have had our baby's name selected for quite some time, we were reluctant to share it with the world too soon. Plus, it was nice to have our own little secret for awhile. However, we've decided that we're going to share our baby girl's name with the world! We can't wait to meet Katelyn Elizabeth Kemmerle in September, and hope you feel the same way too.

On a side note: I'm 30 weeks pregnant now, with approximately ten more weeks to go! We're busy working on the nursery and hope to post some pictures of the progress on our blog soon. Now that it's getting close to her arrival, I'm sure there will be more frequent blog posts. There really wasn't much going on during the middle of my pregnancy to report on.
